Renal Failure

Renal failure or kidney failure is a condition of malfunctioned kidneys that cannot adequately remove wastes and toxins from the blood. In this condition, the Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) significantly falls, which depicts the loss of kidneys’ abilities. The detection of renal failure can also be done by estimation of creatinine in the blood. The Ayurvedic approach towards renal failure is different. Among the seven crucial dhatus in the human body), the kidneys are the Rakta Meda dhatu. Moreover, Ama (waste of improper digestion) and Kitta (sweat, feces, and urine) are the two wastes produced by the human body, says Ayurvedic Physiology. Also, the vitiation in Kapha dosha, Kledak Kapha, results in kidney failure. The treatment of renal failure lies in Rakta and Meda dhatu and the alteration of Kapha’s vitiation. The Ayurvedic herbs’ therapeutic quality for the kidneys’ betterment reverses the loss either partially or wholly. Ayurveda can reduce the frequency of dialysis along with the reduction of cardiovascular damages.
